FAQ
Our carbon steel short bends are manufactured from ASTM A234 Grade WPB, which is the standard specification for wrought carbon steel and alloy steel fittings. Grade WPB offers a minimum tensile strength of 60,000 PSI and yield strength of 35,000 PSI, providing excellent strength characteristics for high-pressure applications up to 1,000 PSI depending on the wall schedule selected. This grade also delivers good weldability, allowing for reliable butt-weld connections without special preheating or post-weld heat treatment in most applications. For low-temperature service down to minus 50 degrees Fahrenheit, we also supply A420 Grade WPL6, which maintains impact resistance in cold conditions. Schedules available include Sch 40, Sch 80, and Sch 160 to match your system pressure requirements.
